Abstract

To develop an electrical connector sealing glass suitable for stable high-temperature operation, a glass based on BaO-SiO2-CaO-Al2O3-B2O3 (BSCA) system was studied. The coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), glass transition temperature (Tg) and softening point temperature (Tf) of specimens were determined by means of dilatometer analysis, and the microscopic network structure of the glass powder was studied with Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The content of [BO3] was increased with the increase in B2O3 content. The effect of the content of B2O3 on the electrical properties of the glass was discussed. This discussion shows that, as the temperature increases, the high-temperature insulation resistivity of the material decreases gradually. At the same temperature, with the increase of B2O3, the resistance value has a maximum value. At 500 °C, the resistance of BSCA4 is 6.19 × 10-2 MΩ, and its (RT ∼ 300 °C) CTE is 9.2 × 10-6 /K.
