Guidelines for authorsGeneral remarksThe Journal of Ceramic Science and Technology will publish original research relating to all categories of ceramic materials. Articles on basic research as well as processing and application of ceramic materials are welcome. Papers may have either theoretical or experimental character. Submission language is English. To sustain a high standard of the journal all manuscripts will be reviewed by at least two international experts and the journal editor. Original papers and articles that have not been printed elsewhere will be published only. Once a paper has been accepted for publication, its copyright is transferred to the publisher of the Journal of Ceramic Science and Technology. Paper submissionPapers can be submitted electronically via the internet platform only. The online manuscript management and review system will help authors to submit their papers. The corresponding author must provide an e-mail address, fax- and telephone number (with country and area code). The editor can return manuscripts which are not in accordance with the detailed instructions for manuscript preparation or that do not fit the scope of the journal prior to the reviewing process. Format of manuscriptsThe format of manuscripts should be as follows: Title, Authors, Affiliation, Abstract, Keywords, Main Text, References, Figure and Table Captions. The text of each paper should be divided into different sections such as introduction, experimental, results, discussion, conclusion, acknowledgement. Text LayoutUse double spacing and wide (3 cm) margins. Present tables and figure legends on separate pages at the end of the manuscript. Number all pages consecutively, use 12 pt font size and standard fonts. Do not import figures into the text. AuthorsItemise first and last name and full postal address. The e-mail address of a corresponding author should be indicated in a footnote on the first page of the manuscript. AbstractAn abstract of around 150-200 words must be provided, outlining the aims, scope and conclusions of the paper. KeywordsAuthors should choose up to five keywords using common ceramic expressions. Units and symbolsSI Units should be used for all data. If it is necessary to quote other units, these should be added in parentheses. MathsMathematical expressions should be presented in an unambiguous manner. Every symbol has to be defined and multiple meanings have to be avoided. FiguresIllustrations should be submitted as electronic files at the appropriate resolution and the size intended for publication. Color images should be submitted in full color. The type area is 185 mm wide x 275 mm deep. Two columns, each 90 mm wide. Legends min. 7pt lettering after reduction. For file format, submit line artwork (vector graphics) as Encapsulated PostScript (EPS), and halftones or photographic images as Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) or PDF files. Images saved in Microsoft Office formats should not be used. Minimum acceptable resolution at final, published size is 300 dpi (dots per inch) for color figures, 600 dpi for grayscale images, and 1200 dpi for line art. Each figure submitted must be clearly identified with a figure number and caption. Figure captions should be disposed in a list at the end of the manuscript within the manuscript file. This grouping of captions is in addition to the presentation of each individual caption with its appropriate figure. Figures embedded in text are acceptable for review purposes only; separate files should be submitted for publication. If there are several images used for a figure each component must be clearly labeled (Figure 1a, 1b, 1c, etc.). Please ensure that the caption clearly indicates the significance of each part of the overall figure. Micrographs are typically reduced before publication. Therefore magnification bars have to be used instead of magnification indicators, e.g., “200X” to make sure that scale makers are easy to read remove machine-generated information from micrographs. Add critical information in the current legend to the figure caption. Normally, manuscripts are published in black and white. Figures submitted in color will appear in color when published online. However, if color print reproduction is desired, the author must accept additional costs of 500 Euro per page. TablesTables should not duplicate results presented already elsewhere in the manuscript. Each table with a concise title should begin on a new page. ReferencesReferences should be cited at the appropriate point in the text by a superscript numeral. A list of references, in numerical order, should appear at the end of the paper. References should be listed in the order in which they appear in the paper. References to periodical papers must include the authors' names, paper title, periodical title, volume number, page range, and year of publication. Book references should include authors' names, chapter/ section title, page range, book title, editors' names, publisher's name and location, and year of publication. Papers from proceedings should include the location and date of the relevant meeting, as well as the name and location of the publisher and the year of publication. Patents should include authors’ names, title, application number and year of publication. Non-English titles of books should include the English translation of the title, in parentheses, following the non-English title. Layout of typical references is given below.

ReviewThe submitted manuscripts are reviewed using the subsequent criteria. The papers must fit within the scope of the Journal and be of interest to its readers. They shall report original research and contain substantially new and interesting results of sufficient importance. In addition to the specified format the papers have to describe the state of the art with a thorough literature review, the purpose, the approach, results and consequences and how the present study differs from past studies. The experimental procedure has to be accurately described including the number of tests performed, the number of specimens used, their dimensions, the test equipment used etc. Micrographs and figures should be self-explanatory with captions that clearly convey their intended message. The results have to be logically discussed in a way that leads to exact conclusions. The manuscript has to be written using proper English style and grammar. PublishingThe Journal Editor forwards an accepted paper to Göller Verlag . When composed page proofs are available, Göller Verlag forwards them to the author for final review and to answer any editorial questions that may have resulted from editing the manuscript. The author should return the corrected page proofs as directed by Göller Verlag. If none are returned within 2 weeks. Göller Verlag will proceed with publication as edited.
